ADVISORY WARNING

The United Nations Sanctions (Overseas Territories) (Revocations) Order 2012

Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 31 December, 2012 – The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (the ”FSC”) is advising the public that on 14 November 2012, The United Nations Sanctions (Overseas Territories) (Revocations) Order 2012 (the “Order”) was ratified and extended to the Territory.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that this Order has been extended to the Territory by virtue of Schedule 1 to the Order. 

AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that The United Nations Sanctions (Overseas Territories) (Revocations) Order 2012 revokes the following Orders that had previously been extended to the Territory;-

·                     The Serbia and Montenegro (United Nations Prohibition of Flights)(Dependent Territories) Order 1992,

·                     The Serbia and Montenegro (United Nations Sanctions)(Dependent Territories) Order 1993,

·                     The Former Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions)(Dependent Territories) Order 1994,

·                     The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Dependent Territories) Order 1998,

·                     The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (United Nations Sanctions) (Dependent Territories) (Amendment) Order 1999,

·                     The Eritrea and Ethiopia (United Nations Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2000, and

·                     The Eritrea and Ethiopia (United Nations Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2000. 

These Orders ceased to have effect on the termination of the United Nations sanctions measures which they implemented. The United Nations Sanctions (Overseas Territories) (Revocations) Order 2012 formally revokes the previous Orders.
