PUBLIC STATEMENT
ADVANTAGE FINANCE EUROPEAN FUTURES FUND LTD
Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 19 September, 2011 – The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (the “FSC”) considers it necessary to issue this Public Statement in order to protect the public interest, and the interests of any of the investors and creditors of Advantage Finance European Futures Fund Ltd (the “Fund”) and to make the general public aware that the Fund is no longer recognised by the FSC as a private mutual fund.
The FSC wishes the following to be known:
· The Fund was incorporated in the Territory on 5 March, 1999;
· The Fund was formerly recognised by the Commission as a Private Mutual Fund to conduct mutual fund business from within the Territory, having been so recognised on 24 March, 1999;
· The Fund was struck off the Company Register maintained by the Registrar of Corporate Affairs on 1 November, 2008 for the non-payment of its company registration fees; and
· The Fund is now no longer recognised by the Commission; its certificate of recognition was cancelled on 15 December, 2010 as a result of the non-payment of its recognition fees for the years 2008, 2009, and 2010.
The FSC has recently been made aware that Advantage Finance European Futures Fund Ltd is hosting and maintaining a website located at www.advantage-finance.com which gives the impression that the Fund is still active and carrying on investment business.
The general public, including investors and creditors, should note that Advantage Finance European Futures Fund Ltd is no longer recognised by the FSC as a Private Mutual Fund, and therefore should exercise extreme caution in conducting any transaction with Advantage Finance European Futures Fund Ltd.
The FSC will provide an update on any further developments in this matter.
This Public Statement is issued pursuant to Section 37A (4) of the Financial Services Commission Act, 2001.
