BVI FSC TO HOST MEET THE REGULATOR FORUM IN HONG KONG

Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 9 May 2024 – The BVI Financial Services Commission (the Commission) is set to host a Meet the Regulator (MTR) Forum in Hong Kong aimed at bringing together BVI financial services industry stakeholders, regulatory professionals, and business leaders in the Asia Pacific region. The closed-door event is scheduled to take place at the Conrad Hotel Hong Kong, Pacific Place, Admiralty, on Monday, 20 May 2024.

The MTR Forum offers the Commission a vital opportunity to meet with global partners, promote collaborations through transparency, and maintain a strong foundation for dialogue with industry professionals. The event will also enable client service practitioners to deliver top-notch service standards to those they represent.

Managing Director and CEO of the Commission – Mr Kenneth Baker, stated: “The Commission is dedicated to fostering deliberations in line with our commitment to transparency, and which align with our aim for a regulatory framework characterised by integrity and stability. When the Commission facilitates dialogue with those who are diligently promoting BVI financial services business, we are not just enabling first-person information transfer, but are also aiding client service practitioners to deliver on top-notch service standards to those whom they represent.”

During the MTR Forum, Commission delegate, Deputy Managing Director for Regulation, Mr Glenford Malone, will address various topics including the anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing implementation actions regarding the 4th Round Mutual Evaluation Report. The Asia Representative for the BVI Financial Services Commission (HK) Limited - Mr Shane Baptiste, will also be on hand to provide support and reinforcement at the event.
