BVI Financial Services Commission Office Closure in Response to COVID-19 Global Pandemic

On 25 March 2020, The Ministry of Health and Social Development confirmed the first two imported cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the British Virgin Islands.  This was announced during a live broadcast by Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie along with His Excellency Governor, Augustus Jaspert and Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Carvin Malone.  In order to further protect the Territory from the spread of COVID-19, the Government of the Virgin Islands has put in place a mandatory curfew that may have an impact on Commission services to the industry.

In response to and in compliance with the Government issued curfew order across the Territory, the physical offices of the Commission will close at 1:00 p.m. on Friday 27 March. A 24-hour curfew will be in place from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27 to 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2 and our physical offices will be closed during this time. A new notice advising of the reopening of the office will be posted as soon as possible.

With Commission staff working remotely during this time, service times to the industry may be affected. The Commission is working hard to ensure that service to the industry is not disrupted and we will continue to operate our business continuity measures. Please check the Commission website and monitor emails from FSC Corporate Communications for the most up to date information on Commission operations.

As a reminder, licensees with annual fees due on 31 March will not be assessed late penalties before 30 April. Instructions and details for remittances to the Commission via bank transfers are provided here.

To provide the most efficient service, we ask that industry practitioners use email rather than telephone for direct contact. Please contact [email protected] if there are questions that you have about this notice or Commission services.
