MONEY MATTERS BVI CHAMPIONS FINANCIAL HEALTH FOR WORLD INVESTOR WEEK

Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 2 October 2024 – MONEY MATTERS BVI (MMBVI) has spearheaded a new campaign, “Level Up Your Financial Health & Sustainability,” designed to empower residents of the Virgin Islands with the knowledge and tools to manage their financial well-being. The series of events, running from early October to early December, will cater to both English and Spanish speakers and include web-based educational initiatives, school visits, public forums, one-on-one financial health clinics, and public service announcements (PSAs).

The campaign kicks off with a week of activities in support of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) World Investor Week 2024, raising awareness about investor education and protection. MMBVI will host a public symposium and student outreach program featuring experts from PMI Group of Companies, VP Bank, and the BVI Financial Investigation Agency.

The symposia will be held on Tuesday, 8 October 2024, on Tortola and Thursday, 10 October 2024, on Virgin Gorda and will focus on Sustainable Finance.

Deputy Managing Director, Regulation at the BVI Financial Services Commission, Mr Glenford Malone, in expressing support for the annual initiative, stated, “The BVI Financial Services Commission remains dedicated to improving the financial literacy of all residents across the Virgin Islands. This campaign is an opportunity to deepen the community’s understanding of financial concepts, combat financial fraud, and encourage long-term financial planning.”

All residents are encouraged to take a proactive approach to their financial health, laying the foundation for a more secure future.
