NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR, ENFORCEMENT APPOINTED

Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 4 February, 2015 – The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (FSC) has today confirmed the appointment of Ms. Diana Nedvidek as the new Deputy Director, Enforcement with effect from 2 January, 2015.  Ms. Nedvidek replaces Mr. Gary Wilson who completed his contractual arrangements with the FSC and demitted office in 2014.  

As Deputy Director, Enforcement, Ms. Nedvidek will be responsible for investigating breaches of BVI regulatory laws and overseeing the implementation of enforcement action by licensees.

On being appointed Deputy Director, Enforcement, Ms. Nedvidek remarked, “I am very pleased to be joining the team of professionals at the FSC.  I look forward to building a strong and responsive enforcement function within the Commission.”

Managing Director/CEO of the FSC, Robert Mathavious commented that, “With the addition of Ms. Nedvidek to our Enforcement Division we anticipate tremendous benefit to the effectiveness of the Commission and welcome her valued contributions to the team”.

Prior to her tenure at the FSC, Ms. Nedvidek worked for two regulatory authorities with enforcement and supervisory oversight responsibilities, most recently, for the Bermuda Monetary Authority as Deputy Director for the Policy, Legal & Enforcement Division.  Ms. Nedvidek possesses over 25 years of international experience gained through working in various sectors of the financial services industry as an actuary, risk officer, and consultant.  Ms. Nedvidek holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Society of Actuaries.
